A Friendship Like No Other

At the beginning, Gabby and Caitlin seemed like an unconventional pair if there ever was one.

They were the fiery Democrat who’s been Ready for Hillary since the day she was born and the lone Conservative in the Democratic section of the Congressional Baseball game. I’ll always remember the day Gabby got up at 3 am do go to Hillary Clinton’s book signing at a nearby Sam’s Club…how she bought a membership (I kid you not) just to get that book signed by her political hero. I’ll never forget Caitlin’s yelps of disappointment among a throng of cheers, as the Democrats scored yet another run.

Gabby didn’t stop talking from the moment we met and Caitlin was Continue reading “A Friendship Like No Other”

Finding Meaning in Old Friendships

Life’s Little Victories as Told Through Pictures, First Edition

Last spring, I participated in the 100 Days of Happy challenge that has been going around the internet for a little while. During a time period where I was experiencing severe anxiety on a day-to-day basis, this challenge developed into a way for me to push forward. I was bound and determined to finish this challenge and I did. With 100 Happy Days in mind, I bring you my newest addition to What is Past is Prologue–“Life’s Little Victories as Told Through Pictures”–a post series that will document the good things in life through, well, pictures…the title is kind of self explanatory, I think. I don’t know how frequent this Continue reading “Life’s Little Victories as Told Through Pictures, First Edition”

Why I’m Going to Make the Most of Finals Week

“Well, that sounds like the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, Britta… finals week is basically a royal suck fest and the sooner it is over, the better!”

Yes, some of you may very well be questioning the title of this post. I assure you I have good reason for this; please, please, let me explain…

Last night, I was holed up in the library working on my senior seminar paper. In order to make my homeworking a little more bearable, I turned on some instrumental Christmas music on Spotify. I haven’t been listening to a lot of Christmas music this year, and this was really the first time I turned it on since Continue reading “Why I’m Going to Make the Most of Finals Week”
