I was just over at Part Time Monster reading Diana’s Friday Fifty Six and I thought, THIS IS THE BEST IDEA EVER! I MUST JOIN!
So, essentially, if you haven’t heard about this lovely link up, the rules are simple–turn to page fifty-six in any book and pick a sentence or a few sentences to show case in the post. I love this idea 1) because I love quotes in general and 2) it sounds like the perfect way to discover new books and get a taste for those books.
Without further ado, I give you my first Friday Fifty-Six.
Sammy Davis Junior, Junior converted her attention from masticating her tail to trying to lick clean the hero’s spectacles, which I will tell you were in need of cleaning. I write that she was trying because the hero was not being sociable.
—Everything is Illuminated, Jonathan Safron Foer
I admit, I am just four pages shy of page fifty-six in this absolutely fantastic, funny, strange, hilarious, and overall awesome novel. This was a little teaser for me for the coming pages and, as with every page so far, it did not disappoint.
The Friday 56 link up is hosted by Freda’s Voice.
Great idea! I might do this for a future post. 🙂

Not my idea, just took it from someone else. Glad you like it, though.

I love it! It’s easy, too, and such found. It’s incredibly interesting. I don’t have a full opinion of it yet, since I’m still not done with it, but I love it so far!
