You’re really good at haikus. I can’t, for the life of me, write poetry. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve written poems but I don’t think they’re any good.

Wow, thanks! I never use to think I could write poetry, but I’ve been reading quite frequently of late–both on WordPress and for class–and so I guess I was a bit inspired. I’m going to stick to just haikus for now, at least. 🙂

I’m taking a Creative Writing class and we write poems every other week and it’s incredibly difficult. I thought poetry was easier than fiction, but they’re both equally hard. I’ve been reading a lot of poetry, too, and I think I might be falling in love with it.

I use to hate reading poetry…I definitely always preferred prose growing up. It’s been growing on me more, as I’ve been reading more of it lately. 🙂 The few haikus that I have written so far have come when I’ve felt particularly inspired to write. I can imagine writing poetry for class every other week would be terribly difficult.
