I thought about changing my theme when I switched up my blog title a few days ago.
I thought I would need something a little brighter with the new title. I thought I would need something more fun.
But I don’t.
I love The Penscratch Theme. I love how clean and simple it is and I love how my widgets are easily navigable on the sidebar.
I think the theme still works well with my new title…together, they show my preference for simplicity and my quirkiness–two very different, but nonetheless important parts of myself.
This isn’t my first theme. I started out with another theme that I felt was constricting me from really making the most of my blog. Late one night last semester when I should have been writing a paper, I switched it up. I decided to pay a little bit of money to be able to personalize my theme a little bit, something I’m really thankful I did.
I put a lot of time into finding the exact color scheme and the exact fonts.
I’m someone who is very particular about the way my things look. Ask any of my friends and they’ll tell you I over react a little too much if people pick up my belongings and carelessly put them back in the wrong position.
It took me a little while to feel content with my theme; even though I think about changing it sometimes, I know I wont anytime soon.
So, when I saw that today’s Blogging 101 assignment was to try out some new themes, I thought about it. I really did.
But then I remembered how much time I took to get my theme to look just right; how much I love my theme and how my blog wouldn’t be the same without it.
There will probably come a day when I feel the need to switch it up again. That day is not today or tomorrow or anytime soon.
